We all know the saying that "home is where the heart is", but what if your heart is not where you live because of the circumstance you have to face when you are there? There may be minor things putting you off when you are at home and for a lot of people it is so bad that they are hardly ever at home. After a long day at work or a visit away from home, we want to go home or, as some call it, to our "comfort zone".
After the Novel coronavirus pandemic, a lot of businesses started allowing their employees to work from home. Some people lost or quit their jobs and started their own businesses of which many are primarily from home. Many people are glad to save on the traveling expenses, however some might experience it in a bad way because they start to feel trapped.
Your home should be comfortable and relaxing, not a place of chaos

Here are 8 simple ways for you to enjoy happier & healthier living at home and beat the indoor blues.
1. Enjoy your possessions
Declutter - put measurements in place to keep your home decluttered. A cluttered home not only affects your mood, but also has a negative effect on how you function every day. It also makes it easier to keep your home clean and tidy.
Keep things organized and tidy, to help keep your mind cleared.
Use beautiful things instead of keeping it for one day or for special occasions. Life is the special occasion, and it is short. Enjoy every moment you can.
2. Show love
Show appreciation and gratitude towards the people around you
Make the positive argument - when you disagree with anyone at home, aim to resolve the matter at hand and not only to be right. Seek to understand, rather than to be understood.
Turn negative thoughts around.
3. Pay attention to your children
"Under-react" to a problem and respond lightly to household mishaps- React like you would have done if YOU did it.
Participate in their interests, see what you can do to enjoy it with them or to support them. After a day apart, ask how their day was or give them the opportunity to invite their friends over.
4. Nurture your inner happiness
Become emotionally self-sufficient
Don't try too hard to cheer others (happiness leeches) up. Acknowledge and don't contradict them.
Learn to hold back and speak nicely, as opposed to snapping when you're stressed or upset.

5. Make time for Important things
Decide what is important to you and make time for it. Read, journal, meditate, pray, socialize, yourself.
It's okay to do a "good enough" job. Don't always aim for perfection.
Do important things bit-by-bit consistently, not all at once.
6. Create sensuous experiences
Home is a state of mind, but also relates to physical experiences.
Textures, sounds and fragrances evoke memories; make them good.
Display sentimental items around your house to keep good memories alive.
Decorate your home with natural items, such as live plants and flowers and use colors around the house that boost your mood. Use scents to evoke desired moods and energy levels. You can even mix your own with essential oils.
7. Decorate for yourself first
Instead of trying to keep up with the latest trends, you should decorate with items that make you feel good and that match your personality. What works for one person might do the complete opposite for the other. Choose textures and patterns you like in the best colors for you. Remember colors can have an effect on your mood and energy levels, so make sure to choose them wisely.
8. Let the light shine
It's probably no need to convince anyone that natural light does wonders for your mood. One of the first things I do when I get up is open my windows and curtains for the light to come in. Keep windows clean and open the curtains during the day for natural light to come in.
At night or in a dark room, using the correct light will have an effect on your mood as well. Warm light is better in a living space whereas cool light might be better for an office space.
