12 Best Smoothies to try this summer

Smoothies are not just nice to enjoy on a hot day but can also be good for your health if you mix the right ingredients. It can be high in antioxidants, fiber, protein, potassium, calcium, folate, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, riboflavin, and Vitamins.

Experiment with ingredients by adding nut butters, chia- or flaxseed, protein powder, Cacao, Coconut yoghurt, coconut oil, vanilla extract, etc.


If you are a super busy person, like me, you can prep in advance: Blend all dry ingredients and store them in an airtight container. You can freeze any frozen ingredients in the correct portions and just take out what you need, when you need it.


Try these delicious and healthy smoothies out to give your immune system a boost.


All recipes make 2 servings. Just blend all ingredients together and enjoy.


Banana, oat and berry smoothie

½ cup traditional rolled oats

1 ripe banana

½ cup frozen berries

1½ cup almond milk

½ cup coconut yoghurt

2 teaspoons honey


Banana, oat and peanut butter milkshake

2 teaspoons traditional oats

2 cups cold almond milk

1 banana, frozen and cut into chunks

¼ cup peanut butter

1 teaspoon honey

1 tablespoon flax seed meal


Creamy mango and banana smoothie

¼ cup rolled oats

2 teaspoons of chia seeds, or flax seed meal

1 large banana

¾ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1 cup mango, (fresh or frozen)

5cm chunk of cucumber

2 cups spinach or other leafy green

1 cup filtered water or coconut water


Green strawberry refresher

2 cups baby spinach 2 frozen bananas 2 oranges, peeled and segmented 1 cup frozen strawberries 2 cups green tea


Green forest smoothie

2 cups frozen spinach 4 kiwis, peeled and chopped 2 cups vanilla yogurt 2 cups coconut milk 2 tablespoons flaxseed 2 tablespoons cashew butter


Black forest smoothie

4 cups blackberries 2 cups butter lettuce 1 cups vanilla yogurt 2 tablespoons honey 2 cups almond milk


Berry carrot Smoothie

1 cup baby carrots 1 cup frozen blackberries 1 cup frozen raspberries 2 cups pomegranate juice 2 cups Almond milk


Orange carrot smoothie

2 cups orange juice 2 cups sliced carrots 2 frozen bananas, chopped 1 cup frozen mango


Minty strawberry and kiwi smoothie

2 handfuls of leafy greens

12 mint leaves, torn 6 frozen strawberries 4 kiwi fruit 2 tablespoons chia seeds 1 cups coconut water


Tangy mango and kiwi smoothie

2 cups frozen mango 4 kiwi fruit 2 cups vanilla yogurt 2 cups coconut milk 4 tablespoons lime juice


Tropical smoothie

2 cups frozen pineapple 4 kiwifruits 2 cups vanilla yogurt 2 cups coconut milk Juice of 1 lime 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed


Cherry coconut smoothie

2 cups frozen cherries 2 cups baby spinach 2 nectarines, pitted and quartered 2 cups coconut milk 1 cups coconut yogurt
